Replication technology.
IBM Informix™ Dynamic Server 11 offers outstanding online transaction
processing (OLTP) database performance while helping customers simplify and
automate many of the tasks associated with deploying enterprise databases.
IDS 11 contains features that speed application development, increase
performance, improve data security, make replication more robust, and
further ease the burden of database administration. Organizations can now
free up skilled database administrator (DBA) resources and leverage their
existing investment to focus on next-generation enterprise applications.
IDS 11 provides continuous focus on improving quality and query performance.
Enhancements include better memory allocation, configurable page sizes, and
the ability to store and apply external optimizer directives.
Availability and reliability enhancements include being able to create and
drop indexes online without locking tables and point-in-time table level
restore capability.
For Enterprise Replication users, multi-node online seamless re-synch is now
possible.
